BIOGRAPHY

Chris Bernardes
Chris Bernardes is a multidisciplinary artist working in the fields of visual and performing arts. Her trajectory is marked by transdisciplinarity, bringing together music, theatre, new media, photography, and video art, with a focus on creating hybrid dispositifs and on artistic experimentation.
She holds degrees in Social Communication/Journalism and in Cinema, Video, Television, and New Media from Belas Artes de São Paulo. Her experience in collaborative and experimental creation processes has been developed through artistic residencies and specialized training, notably her participation in the “123Play!” residency, directed by João Rapozo at Companhia Olga Roriz, as well as training with Marcelo Evelin and Laura Zalenag. She also participated in the Abramovic Method, developing an approach centered on presence, duration, and the relationship between body and perception. These contexts have strengthened her approach to the body, image, and sound as integrated materials of creation. In parallel, she has developed a path in music as a bassist and composer, performing with the band Clementine in the independent circuit in Portugal.
Her work seeks to explore themes related to the human condition by bringing together art, co-creating an aesthetic of beauty as part of human transformation. A strong commitment to sustainability, critical thinking, and inquiry drives her work within the cultural sector.
